Who is this Companion for?

Three readers in particular. The first is the genuine newcomer — perhaps wholly new to Christian faith, perhaps a returning church-goer, perhaps a friend or family member of someone who worships here. The second is the Christian new to the area, or new to the Minster, looking for the church that might become their home. The third is the long-standing member who has not yet visited every corner of our life. We hope it serves all three.

How should I read it?

However works for you. It is designed to be read in any order, dipped into when curiosity strikes, and returned to. The Common questions section picks up the questions newcomers most often ask, and each section opens with a question and answers it directly.

What is its relationship to the Minster website?

The Minster website is the source of record for what is on this Sunday and this week. The Companion is a supplementary read alongside it, giving the longer story and the breadth of who we are. Where there is a question of fact, the website is the authority. You can jump to it at any time using the Visit the Minster website button at the foot of every page.

Is everything in here up to date?

We try, but information changes. The Minster website is always the source of record for what is on this week. If you spot something here we have got wrong, or that should be added, please let us know.

How do I make it easier to read?

Use the A− / A / A+ text-size control and the dark-mode toggle at the top of any page. The Companion is built to meet accessibility standards and to work with screen-readers — see our accessibility note.
