Privacy
The Companion is part of Beverley Minster’s website and is covered by the Minster’s main Privacy Policy, which governs how any personal data is handled. The notes below describe what is specific to the Companion.
The Companion sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and collects no personal data as you read.
On-device settings. Your theme, text size, reading progress and bookmarks are stored only in your browser’s local storage, on the device you are using. They are never sent to us or anyone else, no account is needed, and nothing identifies you. You can turn reading-progress tracking off, and clear it, at any time from the “Reading & bookmarks” panel in the footer; clearing your browser data removes it entirely.
Anything you send via our feedback form is used only to improve the Companion. It is stored with our hosting provider and shared only with the Companion’s editorial team — through a private notification channel we use to read and act on feedback — and is never sold, published, or passed to anyone else. If you give an email address it is used only to follow up with you about your feedback, and nothing else.
